Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker

In 1991, the Orthodox of the city submitted a petition to the executive committee of the Tiraspol City Council of People’s Deputies for the allocation of a land plot for the construction of a church. In response to this petition, the executive committee made a decision on the allocation of a land plot with the right to design a church in honor of St. Nicholas, the miracle worker of Mirlikia. Then, in February 1994, the construction of the temple began. The bells for the church were purchased with funds donated by the Odema enterprise. They were made in Voronezh, and on August 26, 1995, they were consecrated and raised to the bell tower. On the feast of the Holy Trinity in 1996, a cross was consecrated for the bell tower of the church. In December 1996, on the feast of St. Nicholas, a dome was erected and a cross was erected. On this day, the bishop’s divine service was performed by Bishop Justinian of Tiraspol and Dubossary. All work on the design, manufacture and installation of the dome was carried out by forces and funds of the Tiraspolsky Prommontazh enterprise. In 1998 the construction of the church was completed.
