The Snezhinka ice complex appeared in Pridnestrovie in 2008, which made it possible to develop exotic for a warm climate sports, such as figure skating and hockey. Powerful refrigeration units keep the temperature below zero even in very hot weather. In addition to an ice-field with permanent stands for 600 seats (during events the capacity increases to 1050), there is also a cafe and a hotel with 9 rooms in Snezhinka. In August 2013, a monument to the outstanding Soviet hockey player Vladimir Krutov was erected at the entrance to the complex.

The opening ceremony of the ice-rink was a highlight in the life of Tirasol: as part of the ice-show staged by the famous skater Ilya Averbukh, a team of Russian figure-skating stars appeared on Tiraspol ice. Among them were Olympic champions Alexei Yagudin, Tatyana Navka and Roman Kostomarov, as well as silver and bronze medalist of the Olympic Games Irina Slutskaya.
