Parcani is a unique, the only Bulgarian settlement in Pridnestrovie, where 80% of the population is Bulgarians. Over the years of its existence, the village has not lost its identity, has preserved its traditions, way of life and culture.
We have prepared a new tourist route around the historical places of the Parcani village.
The settlement of Parcani (or Barkan) is marked by Russian General Friedrich Wilhelm Bauer on the “General Map of the Military Operations of the Russian Army in Moldavia and Wallachia 1769-1770”.
Bulgarian colonists arrived in Parcani in 1807 thanks to the Governor-General of Novorossiya, Duke Richelieu. With their arrival, the unique process of growing silkworms was restored and weaving production was established. The material, amazing in its quality and density, began to be sold throughout the district.
