The building of the Supreme Council and the Government of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic

This monumental building was built in 1983 for the Tiraspol City Committee of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union. A long series of marble steps leads to a huge building in the historical center of Tiraspol, the building itself clearly represents architectural trends of the late USSR.

After the collapse of the Soviet Union, a branch of a state university was located here. Since 1991, the Supreme Council has been sitting in the building – the Parliament of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic.

For a long time, the Administration of the President of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic was located here, and since 2012 the Government of the Republic has been located here.

The building of the Supreme Council and the Government is considered a symbol of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic and one of the most recognizable places in Pridnestrovie.

Tourists consider it to be an attribute of the Soviet past of Pridnestrovie and they have to take photos with the monument of V.I. Lenin.
